Janelle Atkinson is a former Jamaican Olympian swimmer.  At the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she was a triple silver medalist finishing third in the 200, 400 and 800 metre freestyle events.  She represented Jamaica at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia and at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England where she won bronze medals in the 400m and 800m freestyle events.  She was named Jamaica’s swimmer of the year from 1997 – 2003 and served as a sports analyst for the 2012 London Olympic Games.  She is Head Coach – Men’s & Women’s Swimming and Diving at Fairfield University, Connecticut.
