ESPN CARIBBEAN TO CONTINUE ITS COVERAGE OF THE AFL

Live TV coverage of Australian Rules Football includes regular season and Grand Final

At least one televised game each week, plus weekly highlights

ESPN Caribbean will bring live television coverage of Australian Rules Football in the region as it broadcasts televised coverage from every round of the new Australian Football League season.

ESPN Caribbean brings viewers the AFL after it reached a new multi-regional agreement to renew its coverage of the league for the next three years. The new season began on Saturday 24th March, and with 23 rounds to be played between March and August, ESPN will televise up to three live televised matches each week. As the competition reaches a climax, viewers will be able to follow live coverage of the Finals Series and watch the Grand Final live.

In addition, fans will be able to keep up to date with all the action during each round with a dedicated weekly highlights show.

The new season began with ESPN’s live coverage of the opening game, a New South Wales derby between the newly created Greater Western Sydney franchise and the Sydney Swans on Saturday 24th March. ESPN is set to show a total of 15 live games before the end of April.

Every team in the AFL, which has the third highest average attendance of any sports league in the world, is competing to make the Grand Final. Last year’s game, in front of 99,537 fans at the MCG in Melbourne, saw Geelong lift the Premiership Cup after a 38-point victory over Collingwood.
