ESPN Caribbean continues its exclusive coverage of the ICC World Twenty20 Championship from Colombo, Sri Lanka, with the West Indies Men’s and Women’s semi-final matches, both facing Australian sides, on Friday, October 5.

ESPN Caribbean will devote more than eight hours of live coverage to the ICC World Twenty20 Championship on Oct. 5.  The day’s telecasts, simulcast live on ESPN Caribbean and on ESPNPlay.com, are:

–       The women’s semi-final, West Indies vs. Australia, at 4:45 a.m.

–       An expanded version of ICC World Twenty20 Today at 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.

–       The men’s semi-final, West Indies vs. Australia, at 9:15 a.m.

–       At men’s match conclusion, the ICC World Twenty20 Daily Recap

–       Same day repeats of the women’s match at 3 p.m. and the men’s match at 8 p.m.

The men’s team advanced to the final four after beating New Zealand in the Super Over on Monday, Oct. 1. The West Indies needed to win in order to advance to the semi-finals and Marlon Samuels and Sunil Narine stepped up to the task. Samuels ensured the Eliminator with brilliant bowling in the 20th over and then provided the winning runs with the bat, while Narine continued to thwart his opponents with his unpredictable spin bowling, claiming crucial wickets in the final Super Eights match at Pallekele.

The West Indies women, led by Stafanie Taylor, progressed to the semi-finals after victories over New Zealand and South Africa and qualifying top of Group B.

The other ICC World Twenty20 Championship semi-final matches will be played on Thursday, Oct. 4. ESPN Caribbean’s live telecast day begins with the women’s semi-final, England vs. New Zealand, at 5:45 a.m., followed by the men’s semi-final, Sri Lanka vs. Pakistan at 9:15 a.m.  The women’s semi-final will be repeated on ESPN2 Caribbean at 3 p.m., and the men’s semi-final will be repeated on ESPN Caribbean at 8 p.m., the same day.

The ICC World Twenty20 Championship on ESPN Caribbean culminates with the Final matches presented live on Sunday, Oct. 7, beginning with the Women’s Final at 4:45 a.m., followed by the Men’s Final at 9:15 a.m.  The Men’s Final will be repeated at 5 p.m. the same day.
