ESPN Caribbean’s extensive coverage of the 2016 Rio Olympics includes the live telecast of the Opening Ceremony on Friday, August 5 beginning at 6:30pm ET with a pre-show special. Coverage will be simulcast onESPN Play.
Alexis Nunes and Dwight Stones to host coverage with Jo Ankier, Janelle Atkinson, Shaka Hislop and Bernardo Osuna providing live reports from the stadium.
The Olympic Ceremony will be hosted at the famed Maracanã Stadium, home to the country’s top soccer clubs. The four-hour long event will showcase world class athletes, with the performance of Brazilian music legends Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, and new pop sensation, Anita.
