ESPN Caribbean Presents Live Coverage of the 2021 CG Insurance Super50 Cup

  • Tournament starts on February 7 when home team Leewards Islands Hurricanes host archrivals Windward Islands Volcanoes.

ESPN Caribbean presents live, exclusive action from Cricket West Indies’ prestigious One Day International (ODI) tournament, the CG Insurance Super50 Cup. Thirteen matches will air from the Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG) in Antigua beginning Feb. 7 on the ESPN Caribbean television network, as well as on ESPN App — ESPN’s multiscreen live and on-demand broadband service. All stats and information live on ESPNcricinfo.com.

The Super 50 Cup tournament will feature the region’s six major teams in a three-week-long competition: Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, Barbados Pride, Guyana Jaguars, Jamaica Scorpions, Leeward Islands Hurricanes, and Windward Islands Volcanoes. Each of the six teams will play the other five once, each in the league phase, and the top four will make it to the semi-finals on Feb. 24 and Feb. 25.

On Saturday, February 27, a new champion of the CG Insurance Super50 Cup will emerge from the final match. The 2019-20 champions, West Indies Emerging Players, cannot defend their 2019 trophy due to COVID-19 constraints. However, eight of those champions have found spots in the competing franchise teams during this year’s tournament, including Keon Harding, Dominic Drakes and Justin Greaves (Barbados Pride), Kevin Sinclair (Guyana Jaguars), Ashmead Nedd (Leeward Islands Hurricanes), Jayden Seales (Trinidad and Tobago Red Force) as well as, Kimani Melius and Roland Cato (Windward Islands Volcanoes).

The 47th edition of the Regional Super50 will feature renowned national starts such as Jason Holder (Barbadian), current test match captain of the West Indies cricket team and former ODI captain, Kieron Pollard (Trinidadian), West Indies ODI captain in limited-overs cricket, Shimron Hetmyer (Guyanese) who plays for the West Indies cricket team, and Nicholas Pooran (Trinidadian) who plays for the West Indies cricket team in international cricket, and for the Trinidad and Tobago in West Indian domestic matches.
