New Formula 1 Season on ESPN Caribbean

  • Caribbean fans can enjoy 20 drivers and their machines competing at top speed starting this weekend and throughout the season

Formula 1 is back for its 73rd season. After one of the most exciting season finale in its history, the Formula 1 World Championship returns with the Bahrain Grand Prix taking place at the Sakhir circuit on Sunday, March 20. The race will air live on ESPN Extra at 10:55 a.m. ET, following the 90-minute Grand Prix Sunday pre-race show that begins at 9:30 a.m.

Max Verstappen won the World Championship over Lewis Hamilton in a race that went down to the last lap of the 2021 season. This year comes with new projections, regulations and car updates. 10 teams have worked hard to live up to the expectations of a season that promises to be demanding and exciting.

Lewis Hamilton, seven-time champion of the category, and his new teammate at Mercedes are trying to fight again for the drivers’ title and retain the constructors’ title. Red Bull, meanwhile, kept their champion and the Mexican “Checo” Pérez in their spots, with two renewed and apparently faster cars.

Ferrari, McLaren, Alpine, Aston Martin and Alpha Tauri also kept their drivers and are ready to put up a fight. Williams, Haas and Alfa Romeo renewed, all hopeful for a great season.

ESPN Extra subscribers in the Caribbean will enjoy the Bahrain GP this weekend.

During the 2022 season, races will be available on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Extra and on digital at ESPN Play Caribbean.
