The 2022 Major League Baseball season comes to ESPN Caribbean with more than 180 live regular season games. Coverage includes the Home Run Derby, All-Star Game, the postseason and Wild Card Series, culminating with the 2022 World Series.
The coverage of the 2022 regular season kicks off with Opening Day this coming Thursday, April 7 with the match between the Cincinnati Reds and the 2022 World Series champions, Atlanta Braves, at 8:00 p.m. ET live on ESPN & ESPN App.
The outstanding team of ESPN experts will lead the coverage and analysis of the 2022 MLB season. In addition to LIVE telecasts of the games, MLB fans will be able to enjoy the best coverage of this season on Baseball Tonight, the baseball and analysis focused show, airing on Sundays before the night game.

What you need to know about the 2022 MLB season:
- The 2022 MLB regular season begins on April 7 and ends on October 5.
- The 2022 season will include 162 games per team despite the work stoppage.
- The MLB All-Star Game will take place on July 19 at Dodger Stadium from Los Angeles, California.
- The postseason has been expanded from 10 teams (five in each league) to 12 teams (six in each league,) which includes three division winners and three wild-card teams in each league.
- Doubleheaders will be nine innings and there will be no automatic runner on second base at the start of extra innings.
- The Atlanta Braves won the 2021 World Series and are looking to become the first team since the 1998-2000 Yankees to win back-to-back titles.
- The New York Yankees are the team with the most MLB championships (27,) but they have gone 12 seasons without lifting the Commissioner’s trophy. This is the fourth longest drought in the team’s history.
