Caribbean fans will enjoy three magical nights of the 2023 NBA All Star Game

  • The best players in the NBA will meet on February 17 up to the 19, in a weekend full of exciting basketball for the All Star Game

The Vivit Arena, home of the Jazz and located in Salt Lake City, Utah, will be the stage for the three-night event Caribbean fans will be able to enjoy live on ESPN.

The All Star Game is a fan favorite and one of the most anticipated events for basketball fans. The best talents in the league aim to amuse the audience and show off in different competitions showcasing skill, wit and creativity.

During this 2023 edition, the teams representing each conference will be announced minutes before the game begins. LeBron James, captain of Team LeBron and Giannis Antetokounmpo, captain of Team Giannis, will choose in front of everyone, the four starters who will accompany them on the court plus the seven substitutes, regardless of the Conference they represent.

These are the players selected by the public’s vote:

  • Starters: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kyrie Irving, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, LeBron James, Ja Morant, Luka Doncic, Lauri Markkanen and Nicola Jokic.

 

  • Reserves: DeMar DeRozan, Jaylen Brown, Bam Adebayo, Jrue Holiday, Julius Randle, Pascal Siakam, Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, D’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, Shai Gilgeous – Alexander, Paul George, Damian Lillard and Jaren Jackson Jr.

 

In addition to this match, the classic entertaining events will take place, including the Rising Stars Challenge, a game where first- and second-year players challenge each other, a G-League selection and the All Star Celebrity Game, all on Friday night. While on Saturday, talent and imagination will take over Utah with the skills, triple and dunk contests.

  • Dunks: Shaedon Sharpe (Portland Trail Blazers), Kenyon Martin Jr. (Houston Rockets), Trey Murphy (New Orleans), Mac McClung (G-League)

 

  • 3-pointers: Lauri Markkanen (Utah Jazz), Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), Anfernee Simons (Portland Trail Blazers), Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers), Buddy Hield (Indiana Pacers), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), Kevin Huerter (Sacramento Kings) and Tyler Herro (Miami Heats)

 

  • Skills: Three teams will be the protagonists of this contest: Team Antetokounmpo (Alex, Giannis and Thanasis), Team Jazz (Jordan Clarkson, Walker Kessler and Colin Sexton) and Team Rooks (Paolo Banchero, Jaden Ivey and Jabari Smith Jr.).
