ESPN Inc. and Formula 1 announce multi-year extension to broadcast Formula 1 in Latin America and the Caribbean for the next three seasons

As a new season of Formula 1 racing begins this weekend from Bahrain and Max Verstappen and his Red Bull Racing team look to defend their Drivers and Constructors World Championship from drivers and teams such as Lewis Hamilton, Checo Perez, George Russell, Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren, ESPN will be at every race with live coverage throughout Latin America (excluding Mexico and Brazil) and the Caribbean.

ESPN will broadcast Formula 1 across Latin America (excluding Mexico and Brazil) and the Caribbean for the next three seasons. Fans in Latin America will be able to tune into ESPN for live full coverage of all practice and qualifying sessions, F1 Sprint events and Grand Prix for over half of the races on the 2023 calendar. Fans can also follow this season’s drama via streaming service Star+ (Starplus.com), which will broadcast all sessions on the platform.

As part of the multi-year agreement, Formula 1 will also be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Extra and digitally on ESPN Play in the Caribbean, and on ESPN and the Fox Sports networks in Argentina and Chile.

ESPN’s coverage for 2023 also includes:

  • El Show de la Formula 1support programming around this season’s Miami, Austin, Las Vegas, Mexico City and Brazil races.
  • Dedicated coverage across ESPN.com and on social media, with year-round reporting from our team reporters who will be on the ground at every race providing their expert analysis.
  • Episodes of our dedicated Formula 1 podcast, Unlapped.

The renewed partnership sees ESPN continue its long tradition of producing top quality sport content and information, further reinforcing their commitment to broadcasting motorsport to fans in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Michael Walters, VP Programming & Acquisitions, ESPN said:

“This new agreement between ESPN and Formula 1 allows us to expand our relationship with the top category and will result in the most attractive motorsport offering, coming week after week to different corners of the continent with exciting races to be enjoyed on ESPN and via streaming on Star+”.

Ian Holmes, Director of Media and Content Creation, Formula 1 said:

“ESPN’s broadcast of Formula 1 over the years has enabled the sport to increase its global reach and attract a new and diverse fan base. We are delighted to renew our partnership and continue our long tradition of bringing top quality broadcasting to our fans in Latin America and the Caribbean.
