ESPN Extra’s Formula 1 Returns to the Luxurious Monaco Grand Prix

The most notorious streets in the motor world, Monte Carlo, will stage the sixth round of Formula 1 from Friday, May 25 to Sunday, May 27. ESPN Extra subscribers will enjoy live coverage of practices, qualifying, and main race, as well as the alternatives of Formula 2, Formula 3 and Porsche Supercup during the weekend.

Formula 1 will return to the Monaco Grand Prix after the cancellation of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola. All heads will turn to the stunning Principality and challenging track for the race where legends are made.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, World Champion, and Sergio Pérez have won the first five races of the 2023 season and comfortably led the championship. Fernando Alonso, Spaniard veteran, sits third with talks to evolve to Aston Martin for the upcoming European dates. This Grand Prix is eagerly awaited to see how Alonso responds to the Red Bull leaders, and Ferrari and Mercedes following behind.

The Monaco Grand Prix dates back to the inaugural 1950 season with the Argentine Juan Manuel Fangio’s victory. Throughout the years no one has been able to surpass Ayrton Senna from Brazil (1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993) as the driver with the most victories (6 wins). Louis Hamilton holds the record for the fastest lap and Monte Carlo’s last winner was Sergio Pérez from Mexico, being the fifth Latin American champion.

Fans will watch free practice on Friday, qualifying session on Saturday and the race on Sunday; as well as the alternatives of Formula 2, Formula 3 and Porsche Supercup throughout the weekend.

Stay tuned to ESPN.com for the most comprehensive coverage before, during and after the races, with reports, positions and the best videos.
