| ESPN Caribbean and ESPN2 Caribbean presents the complete coverage of one of sport’s most prestigious annual events, The Championships, Wimbledon from the historic All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club starting on Monday, July 3.
The Championships date back to 1877 and will welcome again Novak Djokovic in the Mens Tournament, winner of 23 Grand Slam tournaments and one who hopes to reach Roger Federer’s record of eight crowns in London. It’s hard to see anyone beating Djokovic at his favorite tournament with such high stakes, but bets are on 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz, ranked world No. 1 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and known for best-of-five set matches. ESPN Caribbean viewers will also enjoy other global favorites like Daniil Medvedev, Casper Ruud (No. 4), Stefanos Tsitsipas (No. 5), Holger Rune, Andrey Rublev and Andy Murray, among others.
Unlike on the men’s side, there are a several women who could contend for the title, specifically the first three in the WTA ranking: Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka y Elena Rybakina. Eyes are also on Petra Kvitova, Caroline García, Ons Jabeur (2022 Wimbledon finalist), Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff and María Sakkari to see their performance of these high-pressure matches.
