  • American League teams have had a dominant presence in the World Series, having won 67 out of the 118 championships played so far (56.8%).
  • This year marks the 7th time in the last 14 years that a team from the state of Texas
  • has made it to the World Series. The Rangers played in 2010 and 2011, while the Astros did so in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022.
  • This year’s MLB World Series is notable for being the first time that a team that has never lost it (Diamondbacks) will face a team that has never won it (Rangers), considering at least one appearance by each of them.

About the Arizona Diamondbacks:

  • The Arizona Diamondbacks have only appeared once in the World Series before; in 2001,

  • Bruce Bochy made a comeback this season to manage the Texas Rangers and has led them
  •  to the World Series. Bochy had previously retired in 2019, after managing the Giants.
  • Bochy is a three-time World Series champion as a manager and has the chance to become he sixth manager in history to win the Fall Classic at least four times.
