The NBA Rising Stars event will kick off this weekend on Friday, February 16th. The event will consist of three games in a Final Four format, featuring four teams comprised of rookies, G League and second-year players who will compete to showcase their talent in front of the ESPN audience.

Continuing on Saturday, February 17th in Indiana, the event is expected to draw a lot of attention, and both the players and the audience will be surprised by what’s in store for them. This year, the organizers have decided to have Stephen Curry, the best three-point shooter in the history of the league, compete against Sabrina Lonescu, who is considered one of the best three-point shooters in the WNBA. For the record, Lonescu set a record with 37 scores in the 2023 edition. Additionally, Damian Lillard (Bucks), Jalen Brunson (Knicks), Tyrese Haliburton (Pacers), Malik Beasley (Bucks), Lauri Markkanen (Jazz), and Tyrese Maxey (76ers) will also participate in the challenge.

On Saturday night, Mac Mclung, the defending champion of the dunk tournament, will be competing to defend his title. He will be joined by Jaime Jacquez Jr. (Heat), Jaylen Brown (Celtics), and Jacob Toppin (Knicks).

The main event of the weekend will be on Sunday the 18th, when the Eastern and Western Conferences will face each other in an exciting All-Star Game. This is the first time in 6 years that the two conferences will be playing against each other. Here are the team formations:

  • In the Eastern Conference, the starting lineup for the All-Star game will include Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Bucks, Trae Young from the Hawks, Tyrese Haliburton from the Pacers, Damian Lillard from the Bucks, and Jayson Tatum from the Celtics. The following players will be substitutes: Bam Adebayo from the Heat, Paolo Banchero from the Magic, Jaylen Brown from the Celtics, Jalen Brunson from the Knicks, Tyrese Maxey from the 76ers, Scottie Barnes from the Raptors, and Donovan Mitchell from the Cavaliers.

  • In the Western Conference, the starting lineup for the All-Star game will consist of LeBron James from the Lakers, Luka Doncic from the Mavericks, Kevin Durant from the Suns, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the Thunder, and Nikola Jokic from the Nuggets. The relief pitchers for the game will be Devin Booker from the Suns, Stephen Curry from the Warriors, Anthony Davis from the Lakers, Paul George from the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard also from the Clippers, and Karl-Anthony Towns from the Timberwolves.

Also, LeBron James has set a new record by participating in the All-Star Game once again. He is widely regarded as the best and most complete player in NBA history, as this year marks his 20th appearance in the game over the course of 21 seasons; with the only year he missed, during his rookie season.
