Ross Hair has joined ESPN as the new Managing Director of ESPN’s businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Russell Wolff, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, ESPN International, said: “Ross joins at a time of tremendous momentum in the UK and across EMEA for ESPN. Our new network in the UK has had a strong start to its second season, ESPN America is expanding its HD footprint in Europe, our digital properties continue to perform well and grow while ESPN Classic continues to play an important role in connecting millions to ESPN’s passion for sport.”
Hair said: “I am looking forward to working with an immensely talented and dedicated team and deepening ESPN’s connection to sports fans and our partners across the region.”
Hair joins ESPN from Sony Pictures Television, serving most recently as Executive Vice President, International Networks, EMEA. Prior to Sony, Hair was Director of Strategic Planning at ESPN Star Sports in Singapore. He also spent five years at Nickelodeon UK, and, prior to that worked for BSkyB and Arthur Andersen in London.
Hair replaces Lynne Frank, who after five years with ESPN left the company earlier this year to return to her native California.
