Alison Bender expands role at ESPN FC

Football presenter and reporter will contribute to ESPN FC television, digital and online platforms.

Alison Bender has expanded her role at ESPN FC as football presenter and reporter, contributing daily content, analysis and breaking news on Premier League, European and world football.

In the expanded role, Bender will appear regularly on ESPN FC’s daily global football program, broadcast by BT Sport in the UK, as well as contributing video reports and interviews for ESPN.

Bender will also serve in various hosting and reporting duties surrounding ESPN’s EURO 2016 coverage, including ESPN FC’s EURO After Dark, a digital-exclusive show.

“Having worked with Alison since 2004, we are thrilled to have her expand her contributions,” said Bimal Kapadia, Senior Director, ESPN FC Digital Media. “Her unique perspective and distinct voice will continue to add more great content, insight and news to ESPN FC, and we are looking forward to her contributions to EURO 2016 and future events.”

“I’m thrilled to be ESPN’s new football presenter, furthering a relationship I’ve had with them for over a decade,” said Bender.

Bender first joined ESPN as a Champions League reporter in 2004, and contributed to ESPN FC’s coverage of the 2010 World Cup. For the past two years, Bender has hosted “Weekend Bender,” a digital segment with a light-hearted take on football’s biggest matches in Europe, appearing every Friday on ESPN FC.

Bender will also be hosting ESPN’s seminar at Advertising Week Europe in London on April 20th 2016. She will be moderating a panel on the psychology of a winner with Commonwealth, British and WBC International heavyweight champion boxer Anthony Joshua, and Professor Steve Peters, sports psychiatrist to clients such as Liverpool FC, England football team, British Cycling and UK Athletics among others.

With more than 15 years of experience in the football industry, Bender has worked for various global sports channels including Real Madrid TV, Chelsea TV and Sky Sports News.

Most recently, she spent five years with the Premier League hosting daily analysis programs and reporting pitch side at matches.
