Byron Scott is an NBA analyst, primarily for the ESPN studio show, The Jump hosted by Rachel Nichols. Scott previously served as an ESPN analyst in 2009 and during the 2003-04 NBA season as well as appeared on The Jump during the 2015-16 NBA season.
Scott most recently was the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers (2014-16). He was also the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers (2010-13), New Orleans Hornets (2005-09) where he won NBA Coach of the Year (2008), and New Jersey Nets (2000-04). In 2001-02, Scott led the Nets to a franchise record 52 wins and The Finals against the Lakers. He then led them back to The Finals the following season (2002-03) against the San Antonio Spurs.
During his 11 seasons as a player with the Lakers (1983-93), Scott won three NBA Championships. His NBA playing career also included time with the Indiana Pacers, Vancouver Grizzlies and Los Angeles Lakers .
