Senior Writer, College Football

Chris Low was hired as a reporter for ESPN.com in July 2007 and now serves as a senior writer covering college football, especially throughout the Southeastern Conference. In addition to his reporting across ESPN digital platforms, he regularly appears on The Paul Finebaum Show on SEC Network, SportsCenter, College Football Live and more.

With more than three decades of experience in the industry, Low’s career began while he was a journalism student at the University of Tennessee in the mid-1980s. He joined the staff of The Daily Beacon – the student newspaper – and covered high school football for the Knoxville Journal. Following his time on Rocky Top, Low wrote on the Tennessee beat for The Tennessean for a decade, including the senior season of star quarterback Peyton Manning in 1997 and the Vols’ run to the 1998 BCS National Championship. He was one of the first bloggers to cover the SEC for ESPN.com shortly after he was hired in 2007.

The Rock Hill, S.C. native now resides in Knoxville, Tenn. and enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons.
