Drew Gallagher is one of ESPN’s most seasoned producers, having worked on College GameDay and NFL properties for more than 15 years. During his 25-plus-year tenure, he has won several Sports Emmys and produced events at the College Football Playoff National Championship and Super Bowl.
Currently a coordinating producer on ESPN’s NFL coverage (since 2023), Gallagher oversees day-to-day production of multiple ESPN NFL properties and shows, including Sunday NFL Countdown, NFL Primetime and Monday Night Football with Peyton & Eli, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Live Series under his oversight. Gallagher also leads ESPN’s day-to-day NFL draft and Scouting Combine coverage, and in 2024, added ESPN’s NFL Flag Championships production to his portfolio.
Prior to his NFL role, Gallagher oversaw production of ESPN’s college sports studio shows from 2014-22, including College GameDay (football and basketball) — which was recognized with 10 Emmys under his guidance — College Football Playoff Top 25 Rankings Show, College Football Live and Championship Drive.
Gallagher’s career at ESPN began as a production assistant, working primarily on NHL 2 Night – cutting highlights, features and producing graphics. From 2002-07, he served as an associate producer, creating features, teases and segments for ESPN studio shows, including Sunday NFL Countdown and NASCAR. Then, Gallagher was a features producer (2007-11), working on short and long form content for all ESPN studio shows. In 2011, he moved into a new role as a features manager, where he oversaw production of the pieces, specifically for College GameDay.
His work has also been recognized by a number of other industry-wide organizations, including receiving a Gold Medal from the New York Festivals (“My Wish”) and a Gracie Award (“Mighty Macs”).
Prior to joining ESPN, he was a special projects coordinator for the New England Sports Network (NESN).
Outside of work, he is an advisor to the Welles Remy Crowther Charity Trust and serves as vice president of West Hartford Little League, where he is also an active coach.
A native of Media, Pa., Gallagher is a graduate of Boston College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications and history in 1999.
