College Basketball Analyst

Former NCAA National Champion Emeka Okafor joined ESPN in 2025 as a college basketball game analyst. A former National Player of the Year and NBA standout, Okafor contributes to coverage across multiple conferences and networks, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and ACC Network

At the University of Connecticut, Okafor was one of the most accomplished student-athletes in program history. He led the Huskies to the 2004 NCAA Championship, earning Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors, and was a two-time First Team All-American and Academic All-American. Okafor also captured National Defensive Player of the Year honors in both 2003 and 2004 in addition to being named the NABC Co-Player of the Year in ’04.

Selected second overall by the Charlotte Bobcats in the 2004 NBA Draft, Okafor went on to play 10 seasons in the NBA with the Bobcats, New Orleans Hornets, Washington Wizards, and Philadelphia 76ers, earning 2005 NBA Rookie of the Year honors.

A native of Houston, Texas, Okafor graduated from UConn with a degree in finance.
