Vice President, Enterprise Software Development
John Heerdt has served as ESPN’s vice president, enterprise software development since December 2008. He re-joined ESPN in that role, having previously been with the company as director, application development, from 1989 to 1998. In his current role, Heerdt is responsible for the company’s innovative software solutions, while supervising teams of software developers, database architects, web/eCommerce developers and testing/QA personal.
After his first stint at ESPN, Heerdt was director of product development at Concentrex until May 2000 and then vice president of software engineering at Eventra until April 2002. From April 2002 to November 2007, Heerdt was a self-employed securities trader. He then consulted for ESPN until taking his current position.
A native of Stratford, Conn., Heerdt attended Bunnell High School and graduated as a finance major from the University of Connecticut in 1985 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
