John Gregory, former Los Angeles Dodger, as well as a Marshall University quarterback, joined ESPN in 1994 and works as a college football analyst.
After graduating from Marshall University in 1989, Gregory spent three years as a graduate assistant and football coach at the US Naval Academy. As the quarterback at Marshall from 1986-89, Gregory established school records in passing yards (7,020), total offense and touchdown passes (51), and also led the Thundering Herd to its first Southern Conference title in 1988. Before transferring to Marshall, Gregory played for Southeast Louisiana University for one season before the school dropped its football program.
Gregory was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1981 out of the high school and spent four seasons in their organization as a pitcher and first baseman before his college football career.
Gregory, a native of Lake Worth, Fla., was inducted into the Marshall Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995.
