College Football Analyst
Jon Berger joined ESPN in 2009 as a college football analyst and he currently appears on CFB Daily: The Edge. During his ESPN tenure, Berger has also commented on the ESPN Goal line network, SportsCenter, College Football Overdrive, and been a game analyst during Big Ten, Mid-American and Western Athletic telecasts.
Berger began his commentating career in 2003 as a studio analyst covering the Big 12 for Fox Sports. He later served as a game analyst for the Mtn. Network covering the Mountain West.
Berger was a letterman at Ohio State and three-time University Scholar-Athlete. He graduated from the university’s Fisher College of Business in 1992, having previously completed the University College General Studies Program with summa cum laude honors. Berger is also the nephew of Jay Berwanger, the winner of the first Heisman Trophy in 1935.
In addition to working for ESPN, Berger is the US Lead for Accenture’s sports analytics business and is active in the Dallas community, where he resides. He works closely with Project Next Generation, which focuses on youth being raised in poverty. Berger is also an active contributor to the Wounded Warriors Project and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
