Max Starks

College Football Analyst
Two-time Super Bowl champion Max Starks is an analyst for ESPN Radio college football game broadcasts.
Starks played 10 NFL seasons at offensive tackle, primarily for the Pittsburgh Steelers (2004-12), who selected him in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft. Starks also had stints with the San Diego Chargers, St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals before he announced his retirement in January 2015.
At 6’8″ and 370 pounds with size 19 shoes, Starks was among the largest players in the NFL. He became a starter for the Steelers in 2005 and was part of Pittsburgh’s Super Bowl XL and XLIII championship teams.
A native of Orlando, Starks graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2007. While in Gainesville, Starks was a three-year starter, including during his senior year when he was a captain and All-SEC selection in 2003. Starks was also a member of the Gators’ SEC Championship team in 2000.
A longtime Steelers fan favorite, Starks is the sideline reporter for the Pittsburgh Steelers Radio Network. He also contributes to SiriusXM’s NFL Radio, SEC Radio and ESPNU Radio beyond his ESPN role.
Starks’ active involvement in the community includes the charity Cents of Relief, which works to prevent human trafficking.
He currently serves on the organization’s Board of Directors.
