Michael Shiffman is a senior vice president of production for ESPN who oversees the ACC Network and a variety of college sports categories, as well as ACC and SEC championship events and special projects. A highly respected production executive, Shiffman has helped lead SportsCenter, NBA, men’s college basketball and other ESPN productions throughout his 20-plus years with the company.

Shiffman has overseen ACC Network, ESPN’s college network to Atlantic Coast Conference sports, since 2022. In August 2023, he expanded his role to include ESPN’s volleyball, beach volleyball, college soccer, college wrestling, college hockey and lacrosse productions, as well as ACC and SEC conference championships and special projects.

Shiffman was promoted to senior vice president in May 2021 with oversight of all of ESPN’s basketball properties – both college and professional. As part of his basketball oversight, Shiffman led production strategy and execution for live events and studio coverage of the NBA on ESPN and ABC, as well as the WNBA and men’s and women’s college basketball. He oversaw a portfolio of marquee events that included the NBA Finals on ABC, WNBA Finals, NBA and WNBA Drafts, the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, as well as studio shows like NBA Countdown and College GameDay Covered by State Farm.

Before moving to event productions, Shiffman was a senior coordinating producer of Strategic Content and Coverage for seven years (2014-21). He oversaw the Digital Domestic Sports Group, the Universal News Desk, the Assignment Desk and the Stats and Information group for ESPN. He also directed the Planning and Bureau teams for SportsCenter and coordinated the coverage of all big events that ESPN’s flagship news and information show attended. Shiffman also served as senior coordinating producer for SportsCenter, overseeing both the day-to-day and long-term content planning across all editions of the show.

Shiffman, who joined ESPN in September 2000, advanced to senior coordinating producer after producing many years of highly successful SportsCenter shows. A two-time Sports Emmy Award-winning SportsCenter producer, he produced the 11 p.m. ET edition from September 2002 through June 2006 and served as coordinating producer from January 2007-June 2008. He was senior coordinating producer for the 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. shows from July 2008 – April 2011 and the 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. editions from April 2011 until October 2012. Additionally, Shiffman was coordinating producer of NFL Primetime for the 2006 NFL season.

Prior to ESPN, Shiffman was a producer for CNNSI in Atlanta for three years (1996-99) and for NBATV in Secaucus, N.J. for the 1999-2000 NBA season.

A native of Stamford, Conn., Shiffman graduated from Miami (Ohio) University.
