College Basketball Analyst

Rodney Terry joined ESPN in 2025 as a college basketball game analyst, primarily contributing to coverage of the Southeastern Conference across ESPN platforms. A veteran coach with more than 25 years of experience at both the Power Five and mid-major levels, Terry brings a coach’s insight to ESPN’s game broadcasts.

Before joining ESPN, Terry served as head coach at the University of Texas, where he led the Longhorns to an Elite Eight appearance and the 2023 Big 12 Tournament title. His coaching career also includes successful tenures as head coach at UTEP and Fresno State, where he guided the Bulldogs to the 2016 Mountain West Championship and NCAA Tournament berth.

Earlier in his career, Terry earned recognition as one of the nation’s top recruiters and assistants during his nine seasons on the Texas staff under Rick Barnes, helping the program produce numerous NBA players and national contenders.

A native of Angleton, Texas, Terry also currently serves as a scout for the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans.
