Traug Keller, ESPN Senior Vice President, leads ESPN Audio and the ESPN Talent Office.
For ESPN Audio, Keller oversees all aspects of the business including talent, staffing, national programming content, scheduling, and event production. ESPN Audio is comprised of ESPN Radio, the country’s largest sports radio network, ESPN Deportes Radio, ESPNRadio.com, and ESPN Audio On Demand. ESPN Radio offers more than 9,000 hours of talk and event content annually, reaching nearly 24 million listeners per week on more than 500 stations, including ESPN owned and operated stations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, and more than 375 full-time affiliates.
Under Keller’s leadership, ESPNRadio.com became the most listened to live stream of any terrestrial broadcaster in the world, reaching more than 700,000 unique listeners per month. He has also led the expansion of the ESPN Audio brand to ESPN apps, SiriusXM, Apple Music, Slacker Radio, TuneIn. Keller has shepherded the growth of ESPN Deportes Radio, the only all-sports Spanish radio network, which has grown to include 47 affiliates across the nation, reaching close to 80% of the U.S. Hispanic market.
Keller was also instrumental to the launch of ESPN’s network of Local sites and oversaw the Local business until it was integrated with ESPN’s other digital properties. ESPNBoston.com, ESPNChicago.com, ESPNDallas.com, ESPNLA.com, and ESPNNewYork.com were built on the foundation laid by ESPN’s owned and operated radio stations in four of the five markets. Each site worked closely with its radio counterparts to produce and report on local sports with a unique and authoritative voice for each city.
In May 2016, Keller added oversight of the ESPN Talent Office, which is responsible for recruiting and retaining ESPN’s more than 1,000 on-air personnel.
In 2013, Keller became ESPN’s liaison with the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Prior to joining ESPN, Keller was President of ABC Radio Networks, leading all aspects of network programming, affiliate relations, engineering, finance, research, IT, international programming, and marketing. Prior to ABC, Keller was New York sales manager for the CBS Radio Networks and held marketing and sales positions with the New York Times Company.
