ESPNU Campus Connection Show Debuts Thursday

Every Thursday during the college football season, ESPNU will showcase the student voice as part of a new 30-minute ESPNU Campus Connection show with network anchor Lowell Galindo. The program will debut tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 3, at 6:30 p.m., and will present features from students, including all-access profiles on student-athletes and stories about the culture and traditions from campuses around the country. The show will also feature reports from ESPNU Campus Connection students using Skype technology, and integrate fantasy sports and gaming elements.

The first show will give viewers an inside look into the Indiana Hoosiers locker room, discuss how Missouri players balance school and football, preview student picks for football contests featuring their schools, including Alabama vs. Virginia Tech and Georgia at Oklahoma State, and provide an update on NFL Fantasy from ESPN.com’s Matthew Berry.

The ESPNU Campus Connection show is an expansion of the larger ESPNU Campus Connection brand — a student-generated content initiative that launched in January 2008 and involves more than 100 colleges and universities throughout the U.S. Students regularly appear on ESPNU game telecasts and other studio shows as on-air announcers as well as producers and camera operators, among other roles. Other initiatives include writing articles for ESPN.com, programming the ESPNU network for a day and working on special academic projects.
