Pirates of the Flats hosted by Brokaw with Keaton Chasing Bonefish

It has been five years since Tom Brokaw signed off on his final NBC Nightly News broadcast with “I’ll see you along the way.” ESPN2 viewers will be able to catch Brokaw for six weeks with actor Michael Keaton and other avid anglers on Pirates of the Flats debuting Sunday, Dec. 27, at 9 a.m. ET. The much anticipated Brokaw-hosted series will air in ESPN Outdoors programming’s first quarter over the course of six original episodes.
Brokaw and Keaton will be joined by fly fishing icon Lefty Kreh, author Thomas McGuane, mountaineer and industry leader Yvon Chouinard and photographer R. Valentine Atkinson. The group spent a week mining the famous saltwater flats of The Bahamas in search of elusive bonefish.
In addition to fishing, the group will discuss issues of conservation relating to the bonefish and cutting-edge research from some of the world’s top scientists from the Cape Eleuthra Institute, Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, and The Bahamas.
