65 Olympians Competing at Winter X 14

Out of a possible 120 spots in the Winter Olympics events at Winter X 14, 65 are occupied by athletes who soon will be competing in Vancouver.  The Olympians at Winter X are competing in Snowboard Pipe, Snowboarder X and Skier X.

Additional fun facts about Winter X 14:

  • the average age of the athletes is 25;
  • athletes are from 26 U.S. states (led by California and Colorado: 21 athletes apiece);
  • athletes represent 24 countries;
  • 117 athletes represent the U.S. (second highest is Canada with 34 athletes;
  • Shaun White has the most Winter X medals (all time) with 14, including nine gold medals;
  • Tricia Byrnes made 13 consecutive appearances at Winter X (1997-2009), the most appearances of any athlete;
  • Nate Holland has a chance to five-peat in Snowboarder X; he would be the first athlete to five-peat in any event and is well on his way, having qualifyied second earlier today (Fri., Jan. 29.)
