NFL analyst Tim Hasselbeck traded the NFL Live set for a spot on ABC’s The View Thursday morning, completing a job swap with his wife, Elisabeth, the Daytime Emmy-winning co-host. Tim joined the all-female panel of Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Sheperd and Barbara Walters to discuss concussions in the NFL and President Obama’s State of the Union Address, among other topics. As a former NFL quarterback used to performing under pressure, Hasselbeck held his own. To view a clip of his day at The View, click here.
“It was a great experience,” Tim said of the swap with his wife, which included him taking on her role of Super Mom. “When she came to ESPN, she realized that you’re not just doing one show, you’ve got ‘NFL live,’ ‘SportsCenter,’ ESPNEWS, radio and more. With doing her job, we’ve got three little kids at home, and so I was up late watching the State of the Union, and then trying to get the kids breakfast, taken to school … and then all of a sudden you’re out of time. You might not make the bed.
“Ultimately we both had a good time doing it, but I have to say, we like our own jobs better than each other’s. But we definitely have more of an appreciation for what we each do than prior to doing this.”
As part of the job swap, Elisabeth filled in for Tim on NFL Live and SportsCenter at ESPN on Jan. 18.
