2010 MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Set for Wednesday Dec. 22 on ESPN

LAS VEGAS (March 11, 2010) – ESPN Regional Television and the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas have announced that the 2010 game will be played Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. ET at Sam Boyd Stadium. The 19th MAACO Bowl Las Vegas will be televised nationally on ESPN, featuring a team from the Mountain West Conference against a team from the Pac-10.
“We’re excited to present another pre-Christmas MAACO Bowl Las Vegas, which provides great economic impact for our community as well as the chance for the fans, student-athletes and coaching staffs to have time for their families for the holidays,” said Tina Kunzer-Murphy, MAACO Bowl Las Vegas executive director.
In last year’s MAACO Bowl Las Vegas – which attracted 40,018 fans to Sam Boyd, the fifth consecutive sellout crowd – No. 15 BYU defeated No. 16 Oregon State 44-20 in the first meeting of two ranked teams at the annual event.
This will mark the fourth Wednesday kickoff in MAACO Bowl Las Vegas history (including 1996, 2002, 2003), after the 2009 bowl was played on Tuesday.
The MAACO Bowl Las Vegas is owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television, which markets and owns these other bowl games: the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg, Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, New Mexico Bowl, Papajohns.com Bowl, Sheraton Hawaii Bowl and Texas Bowl.
