ESPN has selected six additional Big 12 Conference college football games for the 2010 season to add to previously announced telecasts. Additional games will be announced throughout the season.
The schedule will be highlighted by five regular-season matchups featuring at least one team ranked in the College Football Live Top 25 poll and the Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship in prime time for the 10th consecutive year. Highlights include:
- The early selections are highlighted by two games, both on ABC, involving defending Big 12 Champion Texas, a participant in last year’s BCS National Championship game, in consecutive weeks: at Texas Tech as part of the Saturday Night Football series Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET, and against the Pac-10’s UCLA on Sept. 25 at 3:30 p.m. or 8 p.m.
- The schedule will include two games featuring perennial Big 12 power Oklahoma: against ACC power Florida State on Sept. 11, at 3:30 p.m. on ABC and ESPN2, and against intra-state rival Oklahoma State on Nov. 27, at 3:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. on ABC.
- Two of the telecasts will feature “reverse mirror” coverage, with ABC’s split national telecast offered regionally on ESPN2 to markets that will get a different game on ABC: Florida State at Oklahoma with Iowa State at Iowa on Sept. 11 at 3:30 p.m., and Texas at Texas Tech with Notre Dame at Michigan State on Sept. 18 at 8 p.m.
- ABC will televise Colorado at defending Big 12 North Champion Nebraska on Friday, Nov. 26, at 3:30 p.m., which marks the 15th consecutive year in which the division rivals have met on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
