ESPN’s Monday Night Baseballtelecast (Aug. 2) – which featured a pitching matchup between the Mets’ Johan Santana and Braves’ Tim Hudson, who rank first and second among active starters in career win percentage (minimum 100 starts) – included discussion on 2010 as the year of the pitcher. Dan Shulman called the game with analysts Aaron Boone and Chris Singleton. There have been five no-hitters this season, plus a near-perfect game. Tampa Bay’s Matt Garza threw a no-hitter on MNB last week.
Yankees Host Red Sox on Sunday Night Baseball
ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball (Aug. 8) will feature the New York Yankees hosting the Boston Red Sox at 8 p.m. ET. New York’s A.J. Burnett and Boston’s Josh Beckett are the projected starting pitchers.
