Charter Now Offers ESPNU and ESPNU HD to Customers in Southern California
ESPN and Charter Communications, the fourth largest cable television provider in the country, announced today it will launch ESPNU and ESPNU HD to Charter customers in Southern California beginning on September 30. ESPNU offers the most comprehensive coverage of college sports on TV. Sports fans can find the new ESPNU channels on the Digital View Tier (ESPNU SD, channel 415 and ESPNU HD, channel 724).
“We are committed to providing our customers a great TV viewing experience,” said Fred Lutz, Regional Vice President for Charter. “Adding ESPNU to our line-up delivers on that commitment. Southern California is a hotbed for college sports fans, and our customers will really enjoy all the college football and basketball on ESPNU, as well as the multitude of other college sports events throughout the entire year.”
The 24-hour college sports television network televises more than 650 live events annually. Action includes a variety of top football and men’s and women’s basketball games, as well as Olympic sports from 26 Division I conferences. ESPNU is the destination for premier high school programming, including elite football and basketball events. The network also has a wide-ranging agreement with the NCAA for extensive coverage of 22 NCAA Championships.
ESPNU offers over 400 original studio shows, including SportsCenterU, ESPNU Recruiting Insider, The Experts, The Bracket, BCS Countdown and is the television home of ESPN Radio’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd. In addition, ESPNU Campus Connection is a student-generated programming initiative to enhance the network’s link to college campuses nationwide.
ESPNU has seen a steady increase since its inception in March, 2005, and is now in over 73 million households across the country.
