Revamped online retail store features new personalization tools, includes official sideline gear from pro, college and international team sports

ESPN today debuts its new ESPN Shop page on ESPN.com.  The redesigned online retail store – which includes a complete collection of official pro, college and international team sports as well as ESPN gear and sporting goods – was created in collaboration between ESPN and GSI Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq: GSIC), a leading provider of e-commerce and interactive marketing solutions.

“The new ESPN Shop is a one-stop online destination for sports fans,” said Marc Horine, vice president of digital partnerships and revenue development, ESPN Digital Media.  “We’ve re-imagined the look, feel and functionality of the site into an easy to navigate, personalized shopping experience.”

“The new ESPN Shop combines the familiar energy, excitement and appeal of ESPN’s media products with GSI’s expertise in licensed sports e-commerce,” said Stephen Bontempo, vice president of licensed e-commerce for GSI.  “We are excited about our multiyear agreement with the world-class ESPN brand and look forward to further collaborating with them to help grow their online business.”

Merchandise available on ESPN Shop can be found by league and city under the new mega dropdown menus or by popular players and products within the enhanced Search bar throughout the site.   A custom recommendation engine will provide users with, “you might also like” options and the new shop includes social media tools allowing users to share/recommend merchandise on Facebook and Twitter.  User-generated ratings and reviews for each product are also available.

New features and enhancements launched just in time for holiday shopping season include gift card purchases, special email offers, instant hot-market products, simple checkout, world class customer service and hassle free returns.  The new Shop will be featured and integrated throughout the ESPN family of networks (ESPN.com, ESPN TV, Radio, Mobile and ESPN The Magazine).
