ESPNU to Premiere Men’s Basketball All-Access Specials

ESPNU HD will air three men’s college basketball ESPNU All-Access specials on consecutive Wednesdays, beginning on Nov. 17 with the Florida Gators, followed by the Butler Bulldogs and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The 30-minute show guides fans through a typical day as seen from the perspective of the coaches and players. All shows will air in high definition. ESPN.com senior college basketball writer Andy Katz , who visited all three campuses, will host the shows.

ESPNU All-Access: Florida Men’s Basketball visits head coach Billy Donovan as he prepares the Gators to regain their place amongst the nation’s elite. Katz spends time with Donovan at home, at the local barber shop and the practice facility where the No. 11 Gators – anchored by a top notch incoming class – aim for the school’s third NCAA Championship in the last five years.

Butler rose to national prominence last March as the Bulldogs came within a bounce off the rim of winning its first NCAA Championship. For the 4,000-student Indiana school, the near historic finish culminated an incredible run for head coach Brad Stevens and the Bulldogs. ESPNU All-Access: Butler Men’s Basketball and Katz go on a behind-the-scenes visit and learn what makes the 18th-ranked Bulldogs unique.

When former Kentucky head coach Tubby Smith left the Wildcats, it was on his own terms – a rarity for a basketball coach in Lexington. Months later he accepted the Minnesota job and thus began a resurgence of the Golden Gophers’ program. Katz spent a day with Smith and gets unique access to learn what drives him both on and off the court.

Rachel Margolis Siegal

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
