ESPN Deportes Presents E:60, the Network’s First Sports Newsmagazine

José Ramón Fernández, David Faitelson and Jorge Ramos will host the show along with a team of top ESPN Deportes reporters; premieres Tuesday, July 19

ESPN Deportes will debut E:60, the first sports newsmagazine on Spanish-language primetime television in the U.S., on Tuesday July 19 at 6 p.m. ET. Following the format of ESPN domestic’s Emmy Award-winning program of the same name, the first season of E:60 will present a total of six one-hour weekly editions from July 19 to August 23. E:60 will feature hosts José Ramón Fernández, David Faitelson and Jorge Ramos and a renowned team of reporters including Fernando Palomo, Fernando Schwartz, Guillermo Celis, Carolina Guillen and Martin Ainstein.

“With E:60, we are adding a new level of investigative reporting to our news, analysis and information programming that we offer to sports fans,” said Rodolfo Martínez, vice president of production, ESPN Deportes & ESPN International. “E:60 is sports news and more for our viewers; the show has in-depth analysis on the world of sports and athletes, as well as the impact that sports has in society.”

E:60 will give sports fans a dynamic perspective on a variety of interesting stories. Exciting and certainly entertaining segments include profiles on backyard brawling, cockfighting, surfing dogs, supermodel kick boxers, Jamaican dog sledding, alligator wrestling, and of course, boxing, baseball and soccer chronicles of legends, heroes, money and politics. The show’s format will feature a main story produced exclusively by ESPN Deportes along with segments previously featured on the English language E:60.

E:60 is produced by a team of seasoned and award-winning documentary producers. The content is distributed across multiple ESPN Deportes platforms, including ESPNdeportes.com, ESPN Deportes Radio, ESPN Deportes La Revista and ESPN Deportes Movil.

In the first episode of E:60, viewers will take a look at the experiences of Latino players in Major League Baseball and their impact in the league. E:60 will give an overview of what players go through to be recognized by coaches and independent trainers, also known as “hustlers,” to achieve success. In addition, E:60 will examine the case of Brazilian soccer idol Bruno Souza, who allegedly planned the gruesome murder of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child. As Souza awaits a trial date, all of his South American fans, as well as the police, will have to wait and let the story unfold. In closing, E:60 will treat basketball fans to what goes into making the coveted Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy. Expertly crafted by famous jewelry company, Tiffany & Co., the trophy takes eight to ten weeks to make.

The show premieres on ESPN Deportes Tuesday, July 19 at 6 p.m. ET.
