Finalists for Top College Football Honors Announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards Nomination Special Monday

ESPNU host Dari Nowkhah, along with ESPN national recruiting director Tom Luginbill and college football analyst Matt Stinchcomb will announce the finalists for nine of college football’s most prestigious awards on Monday, Nov. 21 at 5:30 p.m. ET during ESPNU’s second annual The Home Depot College Football Awards Nomination Special. The winners of the awards featured in the nomination special will be presented from The Walt Disney World Resort at The Home Depot College Football Awards on Thursday, Dec. 8, airing on ESPN at 9 p.m.

Award finalists announced on Monday, Nov. 21:

Biletnikoff Award (best receiver)
Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award
Ray Guy Award (best punter)
John Mackey Award (best tight end)
Maxwell Award (best all-around player)  
Davey O’Brien Award (best quarterback)
Outland Trophy (best interior lineman)
Jim Thorpe Award (best defensive back)
Doak Walker Award (best running back)

The 21th annual The Home Depot College Football Awards – hosted by ESPN’s Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Erin Andrews – will originate from the Atlantic Dance Hall on Disney’s BoardWalk at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The Home Depot College Football Awards Roundtable Special, a discussion about the Heisman finalists and the year in college football, will begin at 5 p.m. on ESPNU.  New for 2011, Palmer & Pollack, ESPNU’s weekly college football studio show hosted by former Florida quarterback Jesse Palmer and Georgia defensive end David Pollack, will air live from the red carpet at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.  The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show – hosted by Erin Andrews, Tom Rinaldi and Dari Nowkhah – will air at 8 p.m. on ESPNU and again after the show at 11 p.m.

In addition to the nine player awards, the show will feature the live presentation of the NCFAA (National College Football Awards Association) Contribution to College Football Award; The Home Depot Coach of the Year Award; The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team; the Disney Spirit Award; and student-athletes selected to the Walter Camp All-America Team.
