ESPN Mobile’s new ESPN Bowl Bound 2011 app for iPhone and Android devices is the fan’s ultimate companion throughout the college football and bowl season. The free app features GameCast and redirects to live games via the WatchESPN app to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider; Exclusive video highlights, analysis and interviews featuring ESPN’s Erin Andrews, Jenn Brown, Lou Holtz, Mark May, Jesse Palmer and other top ESPN football experts, players and coaches; Weekly bowl projection picks and analysis from ESPN experts Brad Edwards and Mark Schlabach; and personalization to follow favorite teams via Team Clubhouses.  Fans will also be able to sign up for live game updates, news and in-game highlight video alerts.  Full Gamecast mobile features will also be available throughout ESPN’s bowl coverage.  Additionally, the ESPN Mobile Web site will include links directly to the live action from the game through the WatchESPN app on smartphones and tablets.

ESPN3 will once again carry 32 bowl games live, including all five BCS bowl games as well as exclusive coverage of the trophy presentations for each bowl game carried on ESPN networks.  The live multi-screen sports network – available online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and through ESPN on Xbox LIVE – carried more exclusive college football games than ever before with over 75 games during the regular season.  Total minutes consumed of college football games on ESPN3 increased by 18% compared to 2010. ESPN.com will provide in-depth coverage with an individual page for every BCS bowl game as well as a home page (https://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls) for every bowl game.  Content will include an analysis of the matchups; bowl-related video; keys to who, why and what to watch; and season stats, rosters and team histories.  ESPN.com will also have daily features, news stories and blog posts about each game, and key players, programs, personalities and predictions; SportsNation polls; live chats; commentary and humor from ESPN.com’s Page 2 section and more.  On-site reporters for each BCS game include:

ESPN Fantasy is also bringing back College Bowl Mania presented by General Motors on ESPN.com for the 2011-12 bowl season.  The free game, which kicks off with the start of the first bowl game on December 17, requires players to not only pick the winner of all 35 games, but to also rank them in order of confidence.  There is also the option to make picks without assigning confidence points.  The first place finisher in each scoring system will be awarded a $2,000 Best Buy gift card.

Keri Potts

Keri Potts joined ESPN in 2003 from the NCAA. During that time, she has worked on ESPN’s NFL and NBA properties, its ever-growing entertaiment division including ESPN Films and The ESPYs, and took on oversight of the College Sports publicity in 2010. A native New Yorker, she works out of ESPN’s Atlanta office.
