Soccer on ESPN Platforms: 28 Live Matches from all Top European Leagues through Wednesday
ESPN networks (ESPN2, ESPN3 and ESPN Deportes) will air 28 live soccer matches beginning Friday, Dec. 16, through Wednesday, Dec. 21, including 11 Serie A matches exclusively on ESPN3. Highlights:
- Germany: Two appearances by Bayern Munich, Germany’s most successful club – vs. FC Cologne in a Bundesliga match on Friday, Dec. 16, at 2:30 p.m. ET (ESPN3 and ESPN Deportes); and at VFL Bochum for a 2011-2012 German Cup match on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m., on ESPN3;
- Premier League: Liverpool and Arsenal headline five Barclays Premier League matches on ESPN3, two on ESPN Deportes, from Saturday through Wednesday;
- Serie A: Schedule is highlighted by matches featuring each of the legendary Italian clubs – AC Milan (league champions), Inter Milan and Juventus;
- Spain: Copa del Rey champions Real Madrid FC will host Ponferradina, a third division team, in the second leg of their Copa del Rey series at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid on Tuesday, Dec. 20, live on ESPN3 and ESPN Deportes.
