Tony Kornheiser, Michael Wilbon & Dick Vitale Guest Star on Disney XD’s Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil

Dick Vitale, Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon are often animated on ESPN, but they are rarely “animated” as a character on television. That will change for all three in two upcoming episodes of Disney XD‘s Emmy-nominated animated comedy series Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil.

The show is centered on the adventures of Kick Buttowski, an extraordinary kid who is determined to become the world’s greatest daredevil. Small in stature but big in heart, he takes on every stunt with unwavering enthusiasm. Aided by his loyal sidekick, Gunther, Kick rebels against the mundane and knows that when life throws him an obstacle, his only choice is to jump it.

Kornheiser and Wilbon, co-hosts of ESPN’s popular weekday Pardon the Interruption, will guest star in the episode entitled “Trash Talk” on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m., ET on Disney XD. When Kick is caught littering by Officer Irwin (Kornheiser) and Officer Mack (Wilbon), he is assigned highway clean-up duty, but finds keeping a stretch of highway litter free more difficult than he thought when up against Chuck Glarman, a pesky rival who is determined to have the cleanest stretch.

ESPN Hall of Fame basketball analyst Vitale will take his turn as an animated character in an episode airing in April on Disney XD. Kick and Gunther venture to the Old Country where Gunther is mistaken as an ancient Viking warrior, celebrated by his people and by the Mayor of the Old Country (Vitale). When Gunther decides to stay in the Old Country forever, Kick must convince him to come back to Mellowbrook or risk losing his best friend.

Vitale said, “The Disney XD show Kick Buttkowski is very popular with my grandchildren so it was a great thrill to be with the show. There were great celebrities involved like Alyssa Milano and Dwight Howard and others. To put it in Vitalese, it was Awesome, Baby with a capital A!”

Note: ESPN Front Row also has a Q&A with Wilbon and show creator and executive producer Sandro Corsaro.
