18 Mid-American & Sun Belt Conference Midweek Telecasts for 2013
ESPN announced 18 midweek college football games for the 2013 season, all involving the Mid-American Conference or Sun Belt Conference, for coverage across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3. Additional games will be announced in the coming months.
All of the pre-season selections are for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Select games will have network designation, day and time determined on a six or 12-day basis from the date of that game.
ESPN2 and ESPNU will showcase multiple games involving the participants in last year’s MAC championship game. Defending conference champion Northern Illinois will be featured three times, highlighted by games against West Division rivals Ball State (Wed, Nov. 13) and Toledo (Wed, Nov. 20), both of which finished 2012 with a 9-4 record. Kent State, with an 8-0 conference record last year, will play in consecutive midweek games: against Miami (Ohio) on Wednesday, Nov. 13, and at Ohio on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
ESPN2 will also televise the 16th annual MAC Football Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit on Friday, Dec. 6, at 8 p.m.
Defending Sun Belt Conference champion Arkansas State will play in two midweek games, including a matchup against Louisiana-Lafayette on October 22 or 23. Louisiana-Lafayette, the second place team in the Sun Belt in 2012, finished with a 6-2 record against conference opponents, with one of the losses coming to Arkansas State.
