Longhorn Network to Televise 25 Texas Basketball Games Beginning Oct. 31

11 men’s and 14 women’s games slated for the 2013-14 season, including Big 12 and non-conference matchups

Longhorn Network will exclusively air 25 University of Texas basketball games during the upcoming 2013-14 season, beginning Thursday, Oct. 31 for the women’s team and Friday, Nov. 8 for the men’s team. In addition, the 24/7 UT network will televise basketball-themed programs to take viewers inside the team to get to know the players and coaches.

A total of 11 Texas Men’s Basketball games will air on the network, including four Big 12 matchups against Oklahoma, Texas Tech, West Virginia and TCU. Rounding out the network’s basketball coverage are two weekly shows featuring men’s head coach Rick Barnes. Beginning in December, Game Plan with Rick Barnes will air every Friday at 7 p.m. CT and Longhorn Weekly with Rick Barnes, the popular radio show, will air each Thursday at 7 p.m.

Paul Sunderland (play-by-play) will be joined by Reid Gettys (analyst) or Bruce Bowen (analyst) as the commentators for the men’s games.

Additionally, 14 Texas Women’s Basketball games will air this season. Big 12 contests include Kansas State, Oklahoma, Kansas, West Virginia, Texas Tech, TCU and Oklahoma State. Longhorn Network will also feature the women’s head coach on Game Plan with Karen Aston each Monday at 7 p.m. beginning in December.

Fran Harris (play-by-play) and Nell Fortner (analyst) will handle broadcast duties for the women’s games.
