Senator Bob Casey Calls for 2022 FIFA World Cup in United States on ESPN Audio’s Capital Games

Senator Bob Casey (D-Pa.) spoke with Andy Katz and ABC News’ Rick Klein on ESPN Audio’s Capital Games — an ESPN Perspectives podcast that examines the crossroads of sports and politics — about the letter he wrote to FIFA – soccer’s global governing body – in which he advocated for the relocation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup from Qatar to the United States.  FIFA’s decision to award the 2022 World Cup to Qatar has been much maligned, with detractors citing the extreme summer heat and poor labor conditions as reasons the tournament should be moved. Also in this podcast, ESPN reporter Jeremy Schaap and Nick Geehan of the Human Rights Watch discuss the labor conditions of migrant workers in Qatar.

ESPN Perspectives is a podcast series dedicated to in-depth storytelling and provocative conversations.
