Penn State Quarterback Commit, Five Players in ESPN 300, and Two Nationally Ranked Teams Showcased on ESPNU

The 2014 GEICO ESPN High School Football Showcase continues with a Penn State quarterback commit, an Alabama commit and five players in the ESPN 300 in-action. Bergen Catholic (NJ) vs. No. 12 St. Peter’s Prep (NJ) on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. ET features a showdown between two elite quarterbacks: Bergen Catholic junior Jarrett Guarantano (No. 140 and uncommitted) and St. Peter’s Prep senior Brandon Wimbush (No. 71 and Penn State commit). Senior cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick (No. 27 and an Alabama commit) also suits up for St. Peter’s Prep.

Byrnes (SC) vs. No. 20 De La Salle (CA) on Friday, Sept. 12 at 10:15 p.m. is a matchup of prominent high school teams, both making their second appearance on ESPN this season. Byrnes (SC) defeated Northwestern (SC) during the ESPN High School Kickoff and De La Salle defeated Jesuit (CA) in Week 1 of the Showcase. De La Salle has two players on ESPN 300: Junior defensive tackle Boss Tagaloa (No. 56) and junior tight end Devin Asiasi (No. 288).
