High School Football: No. 5 Wide Receiver Recruit and Nationally Ranked Team in Action on ESPN2

DaMarkus Lodge, one of the nation’s top wide receiver recruits, will be in action for Cedar Hill (Texas) when the Longhorns battle No.13 DeSoto (Texas) on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Lodge, a senior, is the fifth ranked wide receiver in the ESPN 300 (No. 47 overall) and has offers from more than 20 schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and UCLA among others.

Cedar Hill is 6-1, having won their last four games. Additionally, they have scored 40 or more points in all their wins this season. Nationally ranked DeSoto is 7-0 and one of the top teams in the state of Texas.

Thursday’s matchup is a renewal of a state rivalry between two schools with high pedigrees. Cedar Hill won the Texas 5A Division 2 title last season, while DeSoto advanced to the Texas 5A Division 1 semifinals.

Cedar Hill at No. 13 DeSoto will conclude the 2014 GEICO High School Showcase.
