High School Basketball: 10 Top Recruits Highlight Doubleheader, No. 2 Shooting Guard to Announce College Destination on ESPNU

ESPNU tips off its 2015 high school basketball slate with a doubleheader featuring two matchups of a ranked team vs. another ranked team in which a total of 10 top recruits will participate. Additionally, the No. 2 shooting guard prospect will announce his college decision during the telecast.

All the action begins with No. 19 DeMatha, Md. (5-0) taking on No. 18 Sierra Canyon, Calif. (1-0) (4:30 p.m. ET) in the first of two games from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Ariz. Sophomore shooting forward DJ Harvey, Jr., who ranks No. 17 in the ESPN 25, leads DeMatha while sophomore power forward Cody Riley, No. 10 in the same ranking, and junior point guard Devearl Ramsey, No. 47 in the ESPN 60, will suit up for Sierra Canyon.

In the second matchup, No. 17 Our Savior New American, N.Y. (7-2) will play No. 4 Findlay Prep, Nev. (10-0) (6:30 p.m.) in a game highlighted by seven ranked players. Our Savior New American power forward Cheick Diallo (No. 7), point guard Damon Wilson, Jr. (No. 73), and shooting forward Davon Dillard (No. 94), all seniors, are all ranked in the ESPN 100. Findlay Prep is led by two seniors, shooting guard Allonzo Trier (No. 17) and power forward Horace Spencer (No. 55), and two juniors, point guard Derryck Thornton (No. 10) and shooting forward Justin Jackson (No. 26). Wilson, Jr. has signed with Pittsburgh, while Spencer has committed to Auburn and Jackson to UNLV.

Furthermore, during the first game of Friday’s doubleheader, senior shooting guard Antonio Blakeney, No. 14 overall and No. 2 at his position, will announce his college decision at halftime. Blakeney is expected to choose between LSU, Kentucky, and Missouri.

Mike Couzens will call the play by play and ESPN recruiting director Paul Biancardi will be the analyst.
