ESPN Deportes will continue its coverage of the first-ever Football Playoff with exclusive Spanish-language of the National Championship on Monday, January 12 at 8:30 p.m. ESPN Deportes Radio will also carry the game, marking the first-ever national Spanish-language radio broadcast of a college football National Championship.
The network already scored strong ratings with its coverage of the Playoff. The Sugar Bowl College Football Playoff Semifinal on Jan. 1st is now the highest-rated and most-watched college football game ever on ESPN Deportes and Spanish-language television among Hispanic Households. The game between Alabama and Ohio State delivered a 0.5 Hispanic Household US rating and 110,000 Hispanic viewers (P+2), surpassing the 2014 National Championship game Auburn vs. Florida State (0.4 Hispanic Household US rating).
Leading up to the National Championship, ESPN Deportes college football coverage (6 games: Peach Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl and both Semifinal games) is up +50% over last year to date among Hispanic Household US ratings and up + +49% among Hispanic P2+ viewers.
