First-Round Action on ESPNU Begins May 9 from Campus Sites

ESPNU will exclusively unveil the bracket during the hour-long 2015 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship Selection Show Presented by Northwestern Mutual on Sunday, May 3, at 9 p.m. ET. Host Anish Shroff, along with analysts Quint Kessenich and Paul Carcaterra, will provide breakdown of the field and tournament predictions, along with interviews with select head coaches and players.

During their college careers, Kessenich (Johns Hopkins) and Carcaterra (Syracuse) both played in four NCAA Championships and each won a national title with their respective teams.

A live phone interview is planned with NCAA Committee Chairman Heather Lyke, who will discuss the bracket and the process behind each team’s berth. Live phone interviews are also planned with Denver’s Bill Tierney, and Albany’s Lyle Thompson, reigning Tewaaraton Award winner and the NCAA lacrosse all-time leading scorer.

The 16-team field, plus two play-in games (May 6), yields from 10 automatic and eight at-large bids.

ESPN2, ESPNU and WatchESPN will provide exclusive coverage the final 15 games of the 2015 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship beginning with first-round games on Saturday, May 9, and concluding with the national title game on Monday, May 25. The National Championship will also air on ESPNU via the Spider Cam feed – an alternate viewing fan experience.

The women’s championship weekend opens from PPL Park, also in Philadelphia, on Friday, May 22, with the national semifinals shown on ESPN3, followed by the title game on Sunday, May 24, airing on ESPNU and WatchESPN.

WatchESPN is accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app, and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 or Xbox One to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
