New Look XGames.com Launches
- New Year-round Home for X Games Events, Original Series, World Of X Games, X Games Real Series Contests
- Delivers High Quality, Original Action Sports Multimedia Content and Social Media Integration
- Responsive, Mobile-First Design Optimizes Across All Devices
A brand new and redesigned digital home for the X Games launches today at XGames.com. The new digital destination delivers an improved mobile-first user experience that showcases high quality action sports content across devices.
Heading into the 20th anniversary of the X Games, the world’s premier youth culture and action sports festival — the new XGames.com has evolved to cater to the preferences and interests of casual fans and endemic participants alike with a user-friendly experience that showcases vibrant video, HD imagery and other high-quality multimedia content.
The new XGames.com is built on ESPN technology infrastructure that enables it to integrate easily with other ESPN digital properties (ESPN.com, ESPN FC, espnW and more) and shares some cornerstone features such as the everscroll feed of content that allows easy access to a trove of action sports content. Despite that, it boasts a unique look and feel that prioritizes simplicity and visual content whether the user is on a computer, mobile phone or tablet.
“The action sports audience prizes technology, mobility and high quality content,” said Mary Fenton, Associate Director of Digital Content Strategy. “Having a fully responsive, easy-to-use product that presents content as the focal point was hugely important to us from a user-experience standpoint. We’ve also amassed a vast collection of both raw and highly-produced content from X Games events, original series and weekly World of X Games programming, and users will be able to find that and more on the new site.”
The website will be the home for X Games Aspen and X Games Austin coverage throughout the year, as well as weekly “World of X Games” programming on ABC and other original content such as the Real Series all-video competition, in-depth athlete profiles and features and ongoing Boardr Am coverage.
To both reflect and capture the viral nature of so many pivotal action sports’ moments, XGames.com has a new, pervasive social feed across the site that aggregates real-time social media posts from the biggest social influencers in action sports today.
